CUSTOM SOFTWARE FOR REAL WORK

Built to fit
the work.

Camp Chair Studios builds custom software around the way your work actually gets done—replacing manual steps, scattered information, and improvised systems with focused tools built for the job.

For independent professionals, small businesses, small teams, and public organizations that need software for a specific process without the cost or complexity of an enterprise platform.

If a spreadsheet has become a system, a shared drive has become a maze, or email has become the workflow, there may be a better way to handle it.

SELECTED WORK

A few things we’ve built.

Different users, different problems, different software. Each started with a particular point of friction disrupting workflow.

Municipal reference

Civic Compass

An offline reference and search tool for municipal codes, standards, drawings, and field guidance.

Problem Specific answers were buried across large reference documents.

Solution Fast search, structured browsing, highlighting, drawings, favorites, and offline access.

Timekeeping + invoicing

Invox

A phone-first timekeeping and invoicing tool for independent service work, built around multiple daily work blocks, client-specific rates, and notes.

Problem Time, rates, notes, and invoice totals were managed across separate steps.

Solution Multi-block time logs, client-level rates and notes, automatic totals, and Excel export.

Class resource portal

Gracious Breathe

A password-protected class portal that gives students one place for PDFs, audio, video, links, and other class resources.

Problem Class materials were spread across files, links, and messages.

Solution Class-specific access, mixed-media resources, and a simple instructor dashboard for managing content.

What we build depends on the work.

A project might be a reference system, internal tool, client portal, field utility, admin workflow, resource hub, tracking tool, or another focused application built around a specific process.

PROCESS

How we work.

Understand the process.

We start with how the work is handled now, where time gets lost, and what people are working around.

Define the right scope.

We define what the tool needs to do, what it doesn’t, and what a successful result looks like.

Build, test, and deploy.

We turn that scope into a working tool and put it into the environment where it will be used.

GOOD FIT

When Camp Chair is a good fit.

Camp Chair is a good fit when you can point to a recurring process that is clumsy, fragmented, or overly manual—and existing software is either too broad, too expensive, or simply not built for the way the work happens.
